Lantern Ring Coil

The function of a lantern ring is to allow pressurized water/oil/grease into the stuffing box to help cool the pump shaft or sleeve and to keep contaminants out, extending the life of your equipment and packing. The lantern ring coils produced by NEBCO™ are all manufactured in the USA using pure virgin PTFE. By installing a PTFE lantern ring instead of a metallic ring there is minimal scoring or galling of the pump shaft or sleeve.

The Lantern Ring Coil from NEBCO™ is solid in design as opposed to a slotted version. This construction allows the end-user to re-use the ring. We also drill through the side of the material, which improves the coils flexibility and provides plenty of pull-holes for easier removal of the ring for pump maintenance and repacking.

The standard form of our lantern ring coil is available for purchase in both six-foot & twelve-foot lengths. Having a coil of lantern ring material in your storeroom ensures minimal down time when a ring needs to be replaced quickly. Your inventory is reduced as it eliminates the need for individual lantern ring sizes of the same cross-section. If you do not need an on-hand supply, we also offer the lantern ring material for purchase as a single ring cut to the dimensions you provide us or included in a ring set.

The LRC™ (Lantern Ring Coil) is manufactured from virgin PTFE and may be used in all services, except molten alkali metals. It is the preferred material for hygiene critical applications such as food or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Applicable for use in most industries including pulp & paper, hydroelectric, chemical and mining.
